Terms + Conditions + Warranty

Ordering Details

Payment Terms

Vermont Farm Table is a made-to-order manufacturer and requires a 50% non-refundable deposit on the order total prior to beginning production. Because we are building a custom order for each of our customers all sales are final.  Production lead-times begin at the time of deposit payment.  Balance on order total is due prior to shipping.  Any modifications to these payment terms must be agreed upon by both parties and determined prior to order placement.

Delivery Times + Shipping

Vermont Farm Table manufactures its products in Bristol, Vermont and maintains very competitive lead-times; please reach out for our current lead-times. Shipping lead-times will vary dependent upon final delivery location and order quantities. Specific lead-times for larger orders, including 3+ tables, orders with seating, non-stock materials, custom-designed or commercial orders will be confirmed upon order placement. Vermont Farm Table will use commercially reasonable efforts to ship the products on or before the estimated shipping date; provided, however, that we do not guarantee that any product will be shipped by a specific date. All sales are made on an FOB Destination basis to the delivery address specified on the purchase order, and title and risk of loss shall pass to you upon delivery.

Cancellations + Modifications

Vermont Farm Table products are made-to-order.  Sourcing and production may begin at any time after order placement.  We offer a 72 hour grace period in which you may cancel or modify your order.  After this grace period, modifications must be approved by production by working with your sales representative, and may impact timelines or order cost.  Approved order cancellations beyond the grace period will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the total order value, which will be deducted from your deposit, the remainder of which will be returned to you. For any non-approved cancellations may result in the forfeiture of your entire deposit to offset costs and expenses reasonably incurred by Vermont Farm Table in connection with processing your order.

Product Disclaimers

Natural Materials

Buyer acknowledges that wood is a natural material with variations in color and other characteristics and agrees to accept such natural variations.  No exchanges or returns will be approved based on comparison of wood grain and color to samples, drawings or images of said wood species.

Knots, Holes & Other Natural Wood Features

Solid wood is a natural material. Vermont Farm Table uses wider boards than many furniture manufacturers to preserve the beauty of the board and make full use of the material. We believe wide boards are more beautiful, and they inherently show more variation in color and character. We use premium wood and hand select and match boards for every table top, and these boards will include natural features such as knots and some holes, depending upon the wood species.  Hairline checks and cracks may be present or develop in solid wood furniture over time; this is the natural behavior of wood and is to be expected.  Our products are non-returnable due to presence of any of these natural wood characteristics.

Sample Matching, Stain Matching

Vermont Farm Table provides solid wood samples to help customers select wood species for their tables and seating.  These samples serve as a general representation of the grain pattern and color of a particular wood species but we do not guarantee your final table top will match your sample.  Wood varies from board to board, and a small sample can never fully represent how the grain pattern and color of a tabletop will come to life in the final product.  If we are staining your table and have provided stain samples or are matching your table to a sample provided, we do not guarantee the final table top will be an exact match to the provided sample.  We do our best to get close when color or stain matching, but wood will take stain differently dependent on a number of natural characteristics present in the board, including tannin level, age, dryness etc.  Our products are non-returnable due to sample or stain matching discrepancies.

Dimensions & Specifications

We utilize precision woodworking machinery and all products are built to specification, however, wood is a natural material that will expand and contract during the year as weather and the seasons change, and as such all measurements presented on the Vermont Farm Table website and presented within order details are estimations within a range of standard variation.  Table top thickness dimensions are accurate with a tolerance of +/- 0.25”. Overall furniture dimensions are accurate within +/- 0.50”.

Reclaimed materials will be finished to a maximum yield and/or to the thickness of the Purchaser's choice when that measurement is less than the maximum yield of the materials. Any critical dimensions in either wood thickness or overall size must be explicitly identified in the order details.  Critical dimensions will be met upon production but then are subject to variance according to the standards set above regarding wood movement, expansion and contraction.

Ensuring Your Furniture will Fit

It is the responsibility of the Purchaser to ensure that furniture can be delivered and that your anticipated location for the furniture is suitable.  Vermont Farm Table will bill customers for return shipping if furniture cannot be accepted upon delivery due to size and space constraints.  There will be no returns or modifications due to furniture that does not fit.

The Purchaser should inspect all deliveries immediately upon arrival, and should make note of any damage to the products (“Goods”) and their packaging when signing for delivery. Any damages noted at the time of delivery will be addressed by Vermont Farm Table and repaired or replaced at our sole discretion.  Returns on small kitchen goods must be requested within 7 days of receiving, and will be credited to your original payment type upon arrival. Return shipping is covered by the customer unless approved otherwise.

Vermont Farm Table manufactures its products to the highest quality standards. The foregoing is not considered a defect in the and is not covered under warranty. The Vermont Farm Table warranty does not extend to the finishes used on our products. This warranty is given expressly and in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, of merchantability and fitness for particular purpose and constitutes the only warranty made by Vermont Farm Table.
